It’s great to make donations around the holidays. That’s what a lot of agencies do. Come to think of it, we did. And that was nice. But there’s more to being a member of a community, both in the agency and outside.
Last Friday, all 31 of us took an hour or so to give back in the form of food donations to Kingdom House.
But, of course, we didn’t just make a donation, pat ourselves on the back and get on with the weekend. We made it a true group effort. Each person in the agency was tasked with the responsibility of telling one other person about the trip and one item to bring.
Like gossip in an advertising agency, word traveled fast, got mixed up and slightly confused. But in the end, everyone figured it out and did their part.
It was fun. And it served as reminder that we can all depend on each other. And that others can depend on us, whether they’re clients or families in need of canned goods.
Turns out, being a decent ad person is the same as just being a decent person.
